G.O.A.L.S.

1. I hope to end the semester with a GPA of at least 3.8. To do this, I will keep a organized schedule to complete my assignments efficiently and with quality. In addition, I won’t hesitate to ask for help and go to office hours if needed. This goal is important to me because it will help make me a competitive applicant for scholarships and other programs of interest.

2. By the end of this academic year, I hope to have at least 100 service hours. I will do this by volunteering both online and in-person for 3-5 hours every week. Some potential opportunities would include tutoring and helping out food pantries. I think its so important to address the needs of the community, so seeking out service is a goal I hope to maintain.

3. By the time I graduate, I hope to be proficient in at least 3 programming languages: Python, Java, and C++. I plan to learn and master one programming language per year in college through independent study. Artificial intelligence has been an interest of mine for a long time, and I think one of the first steps to learning more about it is to understand how the coding behind AI works.

About Me

Hello! My name is Kezia Pento, and I am a neuroscience major here at The Ohio State University. I am currently on a pre-med track, but I am also very interested in coding and artificial intelligence.

Outside of academics, I enjoy music and volunteering. I sang in two choirs throughout my four years of high school: the women’s choir and the a cappella choir. I am forever grateful for these music programs for giving me the opportunity to branch out and become more confident in my abilities. I am hopeful that I will find a similar community here at OSU. During the summer, some of my favorite things to do include volunteering at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and my local public library.

I am very excited for the many opportunities college will allow me to have. I hope to volunteer more, explore my interests, and meet new people who will help me on the path to a career I love.
