Career

The majority of my engineering experience outside of the classroom has come from my internship experience during the summer of 2017. I was a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Carlex Glass of America in Ligonier, IN. Carlex is a Tier one supplier of automotive glass for BMW, Cadillac and many other automotive companies. There I was able to gain valuable experience with projects involving new process launches, 3-D component design, plant layouts and much more. This experience is one that I learned a great deal from and can use in my future career endeavors. Moving forward I am looking for more experiences in manufacturing setting whether it be automotive or not.

About Me

Hi my name is Jim Peckham and I am a third year student at Ohio State. I am from the small town of Edon, Ohio and I am majoring in Agricultural Engineering. A few of my many interests outside of the classroom include golf, mountain biking and basketball. I am also a member of the Team Handball Club here at Ohio State.

The area of Agricultural Engineering that I have chosen to specialize in is power and machinery systems. Very similar to mechanical engineering this specialization allows me to work with various computer programs such as CAD as well as a more hands on approach to the manufacture or design of machinery. This opportunity for design and manufacturing is what really interested me in Agricultural Engineering and is why I have chosen it for my career.
