Reflectance Sensors

The Reflectance Sensors are a vital piece of the overall AEV structure. They serve as the source for recording how far the AEV travels at a given time by working hand in hand with the reflective tape on the AEV’s wheel. The Arduino records a “mark” each time a non-reflective sensor passes by the sensor, with 8 marks corresponding to one full wheel revolution. This information is then converted to inches per mark using the wheel’s circumference. Having the ability to record distance traveled is important when programming the AEV’s transportation from one point to another.
