Ohio State Fair Horse Show

Information has been released by Dr. Kim Cole regarding the Ohio State Fair Horse Show.  PAS qualifying shows will not be taking place this year.  Registration for the Ohio State Fair Horse Show will be on a first come first served basis.  Please read the guidelines below and contact Michael if you have any questions.

  1. With the cancellation of 4-H horse shows and PAS qualifying shows, the PAS and Dressage qualifying requirements for this year’s Junior Horse Show are waived.
  2. The show will be limited to 850 entries (~100 more than we typically see) on a first-come, first-serve basis with priority given to senior 4-H/FFA members in their last year of eligibility.
  3. Exhibitors are still required to enter and pay the $50 stall fee online at ohiostatefair.com.
  4. Exhibitors are still required to email a copy of their equine’s current negative Coggins test (dated after January 1, 2020) to schweinsberg.5@osu.edu by Friday, July 3rd at 4:30pm.
  5. Exhibitors will need to e-mail Michael a list of the classes in which they will or have entered by Friday, July 3rd at 4:30pm.

The Horse department has also announced the following virtual horse competitions for this year.  If you are interested in any of these opportunities please let Michael know.

  1. Virtual Horse Bowl will be held April 25.  The entry deadline date is this coming Monday, April 13.
  2. The virtual Communications contest will be May 16.  The entry deadline is May 4.
  3. Horse Judging will be a virtual contest held June 15.
  4. Hippology will be a virtual contest held June 15.
