PS: LGBTQ Health Equity’s mission is to support interdisciplinary and translational research, community-based practice, and leadership dedicated to eliminating health inequities in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities.

Dr. Patterson also hopes this program will provide LGBTQ community members with more information about health-related studies they may be interested in participating in – as well as the researchers behind those studies. She also hopes to connect the academic community with local community-based initiatives to promote LGBTQ health and wellness.

On pronouns. OSU Land Acknowledgment : The land that The Ohio State University occupies is the ancestral and contemporary territory of the Shawnee, Potawatomi, Delaware, Miami, Peoria, Seneca, Wyandotte, Ojibwe and Cherokee peoples. Specifically, the university resides on land ceded in the 1795 Treaty of Greeneville and the forced removal of tribes through the Indian Removal Act of 1830. As a land grant institution, we want to honor the resiliency of these tribal nations and recognize the historical contexts that has and continues to affect the Indigenous peoples of this land.
