Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

In order to pursue the Global Awareness aspect of my G.O.A.L.S., I plan on studying other cultures through the courses given here at The Ohio State University and joining on of the thousands of cultural organizations provided here. I would also like to join a humanitarian group and do some relief work in another country.

To achieve my goal of Original Inquiry, I plan on taking part in undergraduate research by my 2nd year. I would like to join a professor at The Ohio State University in his/her research. I also plan on enriching my original inquiry by taking on advanced coursework through my undergraduate career.

In order to pursue academic excellence both in and out of the classroom, I plan on taking courses that academically challenge me and courses that help me pursue my goal to go to medical school. I will do this my using my Academic Plan, and therefore, my Honors Contract, to choose courses that best fit my interests and help me pursue my goal. I would also like to diversify my academics by taking non-science and math classes, such as mythology.

In order to develop my leadership skills, I plan on joining clubs and eventually applying for a leadership position. Outside of campus, I am a youth group leader for my local temple in which I oversee activities occurring within these temples across the region.

To achieve my goal of service engagement, I plan on joining service clubs provided at The Ohio State University. Two service clubs I plan on joining are the Buckeye-thon planning committee and Habitat for Humanity. I am currently, volunteering as a medical scribe at the Helping Hands Free Clinic.
