Year in Review

Basic RGB

Throughout the duration of my two year long devotion to the International Affairs Scholars Program, I have been afforded the opportunity to reflect on my personal identity and how it touched those around me in both domestic and international contexts. I have developed in both the fields of leadership and mentorship. Displayed below, I have included some of my main displays of growth in the past year.

Leadership & Mentorship:

  • International Affairs Scholars Program
    •  As a leader within not only the International Affairs Scholars Program, but throughout organizations on Ohio State’s Campus. Within the Scholars Program, I have served as a member of the Global Citizenship team member and mentor. In this role, I encouraged global citizenry to a mentee through the promotion of cultural comprehension skills.
  • Pi Sigma Epsilon Business Fraternity
    • As an up-and-coming leader of the established Pi Sigma Epsilon Marketing and Sales Business Fraternity, I have taken on multiple leadership and mentorship roles within the organization. I was able to provide analytical and mathematic knowledge as a financial analyst for Pi Sigma Epsilon’s Investment Project in order to generate a return of $10,000 with an initial investment of $500. Additionally, I was able to employ grassroots marketing and social media publicity as a marketing project committee member  to contribute to the brand establishment and marketing strategy for Venmo to create the Top Not-For-Profit Sales and Marketing Project. Finally, I was afforded the opportunity to employ effective professional oral and written communication skills as a member of the human resource committee to create the Top Professional Development Program and Top Recruitment Programs in the country.
  • Resident Advisor
    • As a Resident Advisor, I was challenged with the task of executing administrative tasks, policy enforcement, staff support, and safety/crisis management to ensure service to approximately 600 residents. Even more unusual, I was a mid-year hire, meaning that I was challenged with not only this task, but the task of establishing a community half way through the school year. I believe this leadership and mentorship opportunity was the most challenging because I had to employ everything that I had learned in previous experiences to this one community. Reflecting back, today, I feel proud to say that I have successfully established a fully functioning community utilizing the leadership and mentorship skills that I have gained throughout my experiences here at The Ohio State University.
