Autumn 2021 – Spring 2023
Phase 1 is located at the corner of W Lane Ave and Fyffe Rd.
We began phase 1 of our project by using an autonomous line marking robot to draw out the planting boundaries of our site. Once the boundaries were drawn, we were able to seed for our meadow species and plant our tiny forests over the course of several planting days.
We used both pre-made and custom curated seed mixes to determine what species will grow the most successfully, while also being the most economical.
As the plants continue to grow, we will be monitoring biodiversity, ecosystem function (services) and aesthetics/public perceptions.
The diagrams below show where the different seed mixtures and tiny forests are planted and the metrics that will be used to measure biodiversity and ecosystem function objectives.
