I wanted to focus on helping the community and providing people in need with items to make them happy. I plan to learn how to crochet and make blankets for people in the hospital and the homeless.This aligns with the Service Engagement Honors & Scholars Goal. Homeless is a social issue and as the winter time comes up they will be freezing. I want to make something that will bring them comfort and warmth in the cold months. I plan to learn how to crochet over the winter break. Over the spring semester I want to make at least two blankets if not more. I want one to go to a homeless person and one to an ill child in the hospital. The first step is to get the materials and watch YouTube videos on how to crochet. I will start making simple crochet squares to practice before I start the blanket. I believe I can have these steps by the end of January.
