Vegetative Characteristics: 

Seedling: cotyledons elliptical; first true leaves opposite, oblong to linear-oblong, irregularly toothed, glabrous or pubescent, trichomes glandular

Stems: erect to ascending, 4.0-30.0 cm tall, simple or branching near base, glabrous or pubescent, trichomes glandular

Leaves: opposite below, alternate upward, 0.5-3.5 cm long, linear-oblong t oblanceolate; lower leaves petioled, with irregularly toothed crenate to serrate margins; upper leaves bracteal, sessile with slightly toothed to entire margins; glabrous or pubescent, trichomes glandular

Reproductive Characteristics: 

Inflorescences: borne singly in bracts of terminal raceme, solitary in upper axils; bract leaves similar to upper vegetative leaves; corolla 2.0-3.0 mm wide, inconspicuous, irregularly 4-lobed, petals white

Fruits: capsule, 2.5-4.0 mm, obcordate to obovate and notched

Seeds: numerous, 0.5-1.0 mm long, plano-convex, oval, pale yellow to orange-yellow, glossy
