Development of the App

The app itself is essential for OSUsed to be a success.

To create an easy to use app for both the sellers and customers, a team of programmers from The Ohio State University will be put together.  This team will be lead by one project supervisor, likely a staff member from the Computer Science Department, with the remaining members being composed of volunteer computer science students.  The programming team will be charged with ensuring that there is a secure pay channel to protect all users of the app in selling or making purchases.

The app itself will be modeled after similar apps such as Poshmark, Etsy, and ThredUp.  Multiple pages within the app such as your cart, your wishlist, and your orders will provide each user with a satisfactory experience. Another important feature to the app includes the ability to categorize items so that a customer is able to search for exactly what they need when they need it.  A mailing list will also be created so that users can receive information about certain items or promotional deals. This will also provide the ability to contact buyers and sellers about items in the lockers at the exchange facility.

An app that is user-friendly is vital to the progression of OSUsed in order to make a significant impact in the community.
