OPA Statement on APIDA Violence

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is concerned by the increase in violence and discrimination against Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi Americans (APIDA) as well as people from Asian countries since the pandemic started last year. These disturbing incidents have continued to escalate and increase in frequency. We join the call of the university’s Chief Diversity Officer to support the APIDA community at The Ohio State University. Racism has no place at our institution, and we are ready to stand as allies to this community both on and off campus.

We want to remind you that if you are experiencing emotional distress for any reason, the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers help to Ohio State faculty and staff. To schedule an appointment for video or phone counseling at any time 24/7 please call 800-678-6265.
