Event Cancellation Policy

In 2019, OPA instituted an Event Cancellation Policy. We put this policy in place to encourage responsible communication regarding event attendance.

  • If you register for an event but are no longer able to attend, please notify us at least 1 week before the event at osupostdocs@osu.edu.
  • If you fail to cancel your registration, and do not show up, we will send you an invoice ranging from $100 to $200, depending on the per-person cost of the event.
    • If you fail to cancel your registration twice, we will disregard future attempts to register for OPA-sponsored events.

If you know you are not able to attend an event, we want to be able to open up your spot to someone on the event waitlist. This also helps us know how much food to order, and an accurate registration number helps us cut down on food waste.

Please help us use our efforts and funds appropriately by letting us know if you cannot attend an event! Thank you for understanding.
