Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports Senior and Junior Camp Statewide Scholarship Application

Thank you for your interest in the 2024 Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports Senior and Junior Camps.

Senior camp is open to any youth who has completed grades 7-12 and Junior camp is open to any youth who has completed grades 3-6.

These camps focus on the safe, responsible, ethical use of firearms and archery equipment. Shooting instruction is led by trained, experienced 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors. Campers will select one shooting discipline to focus on while at camp. They will also have opportunities to sample other disciplines along with fun traditional camping activities such as crafts, boating, fishing, hiking and more. All activities are conducted under the direct supervision of our trained instructors and 4-H staff.

A limited number of Statewide Scholarships are available for these camps. These scholarships are need based. Youth who have received scholarships in previous years will not be eligible for a scholarship unless there are an insufficient number of applicants.

Senior Camp scholarships are valued at $350.00 with the total cost of camp $400.00.  Scholarship deadline for Senior Camp is June 1, 2024.

The applicant is responsible for the remainder of the camp fee. Scholarships are funded through the Friends of Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports in honor of Ms. Anita Harris, a longtime supporter of the Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports Program and past Camp Manager of Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp and Justin Marteney, shooting sports instructor and longtime supporter of Ohio 4-H Shooting Sports.

*The Justin Marteney scholarship is open to residents of Fairfield, Hocking, Pickaway and Franklin Counties only. The Anita Harris Scholarship is open to all counties.

In addition to these state scholarships, there may also be county 4-H sponsorships available. For those opportunities, please check with your local OSU Extension Office.

Camp fees not covered by scholarships will need to be paid by check or with credit card at time of registration. Please follow the payment instructions on the online registration. Scholarships and camp spots are not confirmed until the remainder of the payment is received. Failure to pay the remainder of the fee by the due date will void the scholarship.
Please be sure to fill out the camp registration in addition to the scholarship application. At the time of registration, you will be given the options to select I have applied for a scholarship. You may then choose to pay the remainder of the fee at that time. If you are not selected for a scholarship the balance of your fee will be due by the camp deadline date.

Completing the scholarship application DOES NOT REGISTER YOU FOR THIS CAMP.
