In order to create and implement a solution to the issues faced when using public
transportation, specific aspects of the transportation experience must be taken into consideration. Many students who take the bus do so because it is an inexpensive way to get around, especially if they lack a personal vehicle. In order to allow those people to continue to use the public transport system, keeping the price affordable is key. Another part of the travel experience is the waiting. Buses do not always line up with commuters’ daily schedules, leading to riders having to wait at the bus stop, unnecessarily wasting time throughout their day. Keeping wait times as short as possible would improve the overall experience of riding the bus. A solution would allow commuters access to an energy efficient vehicle for public transportation, with lower fares due to lower operation costs and more frequent buses because more can be made with a more energy efficient vehicle. This website acts as a tool for outside interests to investigate and understand a project and work that has been done to better the public transportation system through an advanced energy vehicle (AEV).
