MLT Practicum
The goal of the course is to be guided through all aspects of the practicum experience including
pitching your project, developing a project proposal, project management, project completion,
and project presentation. The practicum will serve as the required comprehensive exam for the MLT
degree. In this course, I will document each phase of the project through this digital portfolio that will include artifacts of my work and reflections on each phase.
The Project
The client I worked with on this project is Best Choice Home Health Care. This is a home health care agency that started in 2013 under the ownership and management of two brothers from Columbus. The problem is that currently there is no online and engaging knowledge database for the new home health aides.
The planned instructional design program aims to help educate and train home health aide workers at Best Choice Home Health Care. The proposed learning modules are designed to provide the home health aide workers an effective knowledge database and certification preparation content. This proposed solution is an answer to the learning problem that the client faces when it comes to their aides and their learning needs.
The Author
Ali Osman is a graduate student in the MLT program at The Ohio State University. He has a bachelors degree in computer science and currently works at the OSU Wexner Medical Center as a unified communications administrator. He has worked with schools in the past in early childhood education as a volunteer.
