Pay It Forward

Pay It Forward provides accessible service opportunities to Ohio State students and expose students to various avenues of civic engagement.  I had the opportunity to serve as a co-chair for Martin Luther King Jr. Day Of Service. This service day engaged over a 1000 Buckeyes in remembrance of D. King’s legacy, after our opening ceremony volunteers were sent to different service sites in the Columbus area.

Scholars Event -ZeroWaste Inititative

Zero Waste events minimizes waste at The Ohio State University at least 20%. During this event volunteers placed recycling bins around parking lots to encourage individuals who were tailgating before Ohio State football games to recycle and learn about the benefits of recycling.

HEADSUP OSUCUM

Heads Up is an initiative through the College of Medicine to improve healthcare literacy of underprivileged populations. At this event we were able to work with elementary children and engage them with information about the human body to spark their interest in science! At the brain station we taught kids about the location and function of different parts of the brain with real life model.

Artifacts

Business Professionals of America is a organization that prepares students for the world-class workforce. This organization enhances student participation in many different endeavors and gives the opportunity to receive skills essential to leading their own organization. To test students skills they have regional, state, and national competitions every year. My team and I enrolled in the Global Marketing competition and the topic given to us was “the expansion of Tiny Homes”. We had to pick a city in the United States where we wanted to set up construction and a city outside the United States to expand to. This competition required us to make a presentation, and a 10 page marketing plan.  My team and I placed first on the regional level and third on the state level.
