PUBLIC ACCESS

352 West Dodridge Street

Columbus, OH 43202

The Wilma H. Schiermeier Olentangy River Wetland Research Park (ORWRP), located North of The Ohio State University’s main campus, is open to the public daily from dawn until dusk, year-round. There are a limited number of free, public parking spaces available on site. Parking is limited when classes are in session, however, you are welcome to park along the edges of the driveway when the lot is full. Please note that there are no public restrooms available at the park.

The ORWRP, situated on 52-acres of land, has trails throughout and a connection to the Olentangy Greenway Trail, making it the perfect place to explore nature. Due to the experimental and educational nature of the park, we ask that visitors remain on the marked paths, keep all pets leashed, not disturb experimental or educational sites and equipment, and respect the natural setting the park offers. Visitors are also not permitted to fish or swim in the wetlands, pond, or small stream on site.

Small groups are welcome to the park between dawn and dusk, however, groups of 10 or more must provide notice of their intended visit 30 days in advance to park staff at water@osu.edu. Park staff will evaluate whether a large group can be accommodated on the selected date and ensure that the visit will not interfere with Ohio State University field lab courses or research projects.
