Solstice Pod

Each of our conference rooms are equipped with a Solstice Pod, a wireless collaboration and screen sharing solution.  If you would like to share the display screen of your laptop, tablet or smart phone on the conference room TV, please use the following instructions:

1. Connect your device to the WiFi@OSU or the OSUwireless network if you are an OSUwireless user.
2. Make sure the Soltice screen is displaying on the TV.
   • If you are in Fry 435 or 535, use the Crestron control pad adjacent to the TV to turn on the “Display Power” for the TV and then select “Solstice Pod” as TV input.
   • For Fry 647, the Solstice screen should already be showing.
3. Once the TV is displaying Solstice Pod Splash screen that says “Welcome to the College of Optometry,” simply follow the directions on the screen.
   • Here are some key notes when following the “CONNECT BY WEB” instructions displayed on the TV screen in the room:
     • In most cases, you will want to use the http web address provided to the right of “Register4OSU” (this info will be showing in the top right corner of the TV screen)
     • If you are connected to the Optometry VPN, use the http address next to “OPT VPN.”
     • Once you are viewing the Solstice page for the room on your device, you will either need to “Get the App” or tell it you “Already have the app.”
     • When you successfully have the app running, enter the 4 digit code displayed on the TV in the room.
4. Once connected to the Solstice Pod for the room you are in, depending upon your device type, please select “Desktop” or “App Window” as your “Share Something” method.  It should just take a moment for the TV to duplicate your screen display.
5. When you are ready to stop sharing, simply click on the “Stop Sharing” button at the top of the screen of the device whose screen you are sharing.
