G.O.A.L.S.

  • Global Awareness: During my time at OSU, I plan to take a summer semester to study abroad. I am planning on studying abroad somewhere in Europe with a Knowlton Architecture program. I think this will not only help me with understanding the content in my major on a deeper level, but also open me up to a new place and culture that I have not experienced before.
  • Original Inquiry: Although I have not had many research opportunities thus far, I really hope to engage further in research projects or specialized projects within the architecture program so that I can develop my own original insight into architectural works.
  • Academic Enrichment: Within my major, I try to really strive for excellence in my classes, as well as joining organizations that align with my professional interested. For example, I am a part of the Alpha Rho Chi professional architecture fraternity, where I have the ability to pair with architecture firms and mentors to learn more about the professional architecture world.
  • Leadership Development: As a member of the Mount Leadership Society, I am privileged to be surrounded by many leaders from which I can learn leadership skills. By attending events and learning about leadership styles, I am learning to become a better leader for the future.
  • Service Engagement: I participate in the Year of Service project for Mount Leadership Society in which I am volunteering every week with a local school. Additionally, I also participate in philanthropy projects with my professional architecture fraternity.

About Me

My name is Meghan Opre, and I am a first-year student studying Marketing at the Fisher College of Business. I attended school in a small suburb of Cleveland, Ohio where I participated in the orchestra, the varsity tennis team, Model UN, and Destination Imagination. In my free time, I love to draw, bake, embroider, and travel. Outside of classes at Ohio State, I hope to get involved in activities such as the American Association of University Women as well as the Sierra Student Coalition.
