On July 21, 2021, a bipartisan group of 14 attorneys general unveiled a $26 billion opioid settlement with drug maker Johnson & Johnson and three companies that distributed opioids at the height of the opioid epidemic. The settlement is the second largest in U.S. history and more than 40 states have signed on, allowing the settlement to go into effect. With settlement money headed for Ohio in the fall of 2021, join the Drug Enforcement and Policy Center and Harm Reduction Ohio for a series of three panels focused on the settlement and what it means for Ohio and beyond. The series will provide background on the opioid settlement, plans for distribution of the award by Ohio and other states, and efforts to minimize the harms experienced by individuals and communities alike.
