As I reflect over this past year, I realize I have grown not only as a student but as a person as well. I have developed leadership skills in addition to academic growth. The transition from high school to the rigor of a college education was difficult at first, but through the help of my professors and peers, I believe that I am much better equipped to handle the challenge. Time management and personal responsibility are two areas that I feel I have improved on this year. Additionally, I have become more independent and self efficient which will benefit me for the rest of my life. Prior to college, I often procrastinated and waited to study until the last minute, but that simply was not an option this year, and instead, I learned to be more proactive while simultaneously balancing school, extracurriculars, and just life in general. On top of that, I know that this year has taught me how to handle stress in a healthy way, which is very important to my future professional career. Through participation in various clubs, I was willing to put myself out there and met so many incredible people in such a short time who contributed to this year’s success. In just one year I have developed various skills that will benefit me in my future, and I am confident that I will continue to improve in the coming undergraduate years.
