History

The Organization of Hispanic Faculty and Staff (OHFS) started in 2002 with a funding allocation from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, with a mission to provide community and promote professional development. In 2016, the organization changed its name to the Organization of Hispanic/Latino Faculty and Staff (OHFLS) and again in 2020 to the Organization of Latinx/Hispanic Employees (OLE). In 2023, we renamed the organization once again to respond to sensitivities around the term Latinx, and we are now known as the Organization of Latine/Hispanic Employees (OLE).
