Light Up the Lake 2020

Since we cannot celebrate this year’s event in-person, we invite you to join us by watching this video to commemorate Light Up the Lake instead.

We hope you get to check out the beautiful lights on Mirror Lake sometime soon. Take a selfie in your mask and post it with the tag #LUTL2020 – we will be choosing some our favorites to feature! Wishing you a safe and healthy holiday season.

Happy Founder’s Day!

Did you know that, in 1870, The Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College was established by the Ohio General Assembly? Three years later, instruction began on September 17, 1873. So today is the 147th anniversary of classes! In 1878 the institution’s name was changed to The Ohio State University and the first class, composed of six men, graduated. One year later, in 1879, the first woman graduated. And 45 years after our beloved university was established, the chimes in Orton Hall rang for the first time – February 22, 1915.

So happy Founders Day to all of you!

(Thank you to our faculty treasurer Cathy for some of the cool facts about today’s historical significance!)
