Did you know that, in 1870, The Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College was established by the Ohio General Assembly? Three years later, instruction began on September 17, 1873. So today is the 147th anniversary of classes! In 1878 the institution’s name was changed to The Ohio State University and the first class, composed of six men, graduated. One year later, in 1879, the first woman graduated. And 45 years after our beloved university was established, the chimes in Orton Hall rang for the first time – February 22, 1915.
So happy Founders Day to all of you!
(Thank you to our faculty treasurer Cathy for some of the cool facts about today’s historical significance!)

Hello, friends! After the website crashing for most of the first hour, we ended up getting a ton of interest from the involvement fair. We will be hosting TWO information sessions: one this Wednesday, August 26th at 5:45 and one next Tuesday, September 1st at 6. Hope to see you there!
We know many are struggling to get the involvement fair site to load. If you are interested in joining us, an organization at OSU which puts on service events and projects such as Light Up Mirror Lake, Script Ohio Statue and more, check us out here: https://osu.zoom.us/s/98133590842
