2022 Spring Student Spotlight

What is Student Spotlight?

Student Spotlight is where we take the time to acknowledge ourĀ AMAZING members, who all participate in API on their own time as volunteers, and ask for nothing in return.

May Student Spotlight: Erin Egersheim

Erin Egersheim is a fourth year Biomedical Engineering major from Middleboro Massachusetts. After

graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics. Embroidering and crocheting are

two things she enjoys in her free time, but also participates in other student orgs at Ohio State, such as BMES and SWE.

Along with serving as treasurer this year, she is also taking on the challenge of learning to roller skate!

April Student Spotlight: Alex Haas

Alex Haas is a fourth year student in computer science engineering who joined API three years ago in

order to help others in need while meeting new people and learning new skills.

He maintains both our chapter and nonprofit websites, and served as chapter vice president in 2021.

In his free time, Alex enjoys watching sports and playing board games, along with taking care of his dogs and cats at home.

March Student Spotlight: Harinie Jeyabalan

Harinie Jeyabalan is a 3rd year Biomedical Engineering major from North Royalton, Ohio. She previously served as

the sustainability team lead for API at OSU, and is currently the president of the chapter.

First joining API because of her interest in prosthetic devices and desire to help the community, Harinie has gotten

to meet people from all over the country from various backgrounds. In her pastime, she enjoys reading, singing, and watching Netflix.

Harinie’s role model is her dad, and hopes to work in industry after grad school ultimately wanting to make the world a better place.

February Student Spotlight: Eli Dresbach

From Chillicothe, Ohio, Eli Dresbach is the current Co-President of API at OSU.

Eli grew up on his family’s farm, and is currently doing a Co-Op with Ethicon. API is not the only organization

Eli volunteers with, as he is also volunteering with 4-Paws to help raise service dogs. His prior work

within API has mainly been within the education team and the market research team. He plans to get

a masters degree in BME after undergrad at OSU, and then work on medical devices.
