2nd Annual Silent Auction – July 11-20

We need to start advertising for our Silent Auction now and build a frenzy for bidders this year.

To do that, we need your help and your willingness to post on social media, use in your emails, and whatever other way you have available to market this event. Below find some banners you can use. Please also add one to your OSU signature line. If you have a problem downloading, please let Teresa know and she will email your favorite to you.

We also need your items/services for sale. The items/services can be new, used, created, donated, baked, made, and of any genre.

Take a look at our silent auction site; you only need to send a picture, brief description, and estimated value to osupiio@osumc.edu and Teresa will post it to the site. The more items we have and the sooner we have them, the more excitement we can generate.  This will help you reach your fundraising goal as you will receive 70% of the sale price of each item of yours that sells. The remaining 30% will be pulled with everyone else’s and split evenly between everyone who participates.

Be creative!        Ask your family and friends to donate items!       Tell everyone about the auction!       Post about the auction!

Thank you.

Welcome Everyone!

Getting Ready to Fundraise as a Peloton!

Hello all.

It’s time to start thinking about our 2nd Annual Silent Auction that will happen in July.

July 11th @ 8 am – July 20th @ 3 pm

32auctions.com/OHIOPeDa1ers2

What we need from you are items or services to sell in the silent auction. Last year we had items such as handcrafted pens, Korean bookmarks/lettercard, Christmas gift wrapping, Cardiff S1 skates, artwork, and baked goods or homemade bone broth. We need your help to make this event successful.

Send a picture and brief description with the estimated value of your items to OSUPIIO@osumc.edu no later than Friday, June 25th

I will be sending out Marketing items for you to talk up, post on social media and post physically soon.

___________

We also would like to have a Science Art Event. However, I need to know if we have enough Science art for the event. Can you please let Teresa know if you are willing to contribute to this event in the next week?

I am also going to be contacting some local restaurants to “host us”. So that we get as many people to eat there that night as possible and anyone who presents our flyer – a percentage of their spending is donated to our peloton!

Would any of you participate in a “BRT Window decorating contest” if I received permission to do so?

Please comment on this post with any other ideas or thoughts.

Check up…..

Time to do a quick check up.

How are you doing? How are you REALLY doing? I hope you will take a moment and either email me (teresa.kutcher@osumc.edu) or comment on this post and let me know how you are doing. I want to help in any way possible!

The Pushbike Song

I know you may already be tired of these updates as we often look at the Pelotonia event as just another thing to do on our plate.

But what if we were to look at it as an integral part of our job and our person? I mean, we eat so that we can work, play, and live. What if we treated our peloton activities the same way? It is necessary to work and live and reach our goals. Would we talk about it like we do our food or our exercise? Would we plan it like we do our dinner? Or set aside time for it like we do exercise?  I hope that this is what we all work toward.

For me (Teresa), Pelotonia has become one of the motivators to exercise and eat right – I am a cancer survivor and I am so thankful for the work you do, for the support of our many donors, and I want to be a part of that for others. I am trying to be as intentional in talking about Pelotonia (and the Oh! IO PeDa1ers) as I am in talking about and planning my healthy eating and exercising. If I don’t, it falls by the wayside.

Training for Pelotonia 2021 is not just about riding your bike, or working toward your challenges. It’s about training yourself to make this an integral part of who you are and what you do. This can happen in many ways. For me, it has become part of my daily prayer life as well as part of my exercise routine (I plan to either walk 15 miles or bike 25 miles per week this year (after my doctor clears me from surgery). I talk about this often with family and friends (phone, social media, texts) so that I have accountability to continue to overcome a diagnosis I never wanted to have – cancer. That I never want anyone else to have.

Will you share your WHY with us by commenting on this post?
