Information for Participants

Thank you for registering for the Ohio Dual Language Summit. We’re looking forward to welcoming you for the first ever event on dual language education in the state. We’d like to share the following information about the upcoming event. Arrival and check-in starts at 8:30am. The conference will begin promptly at 9am.

COVID-related protocols:

We’re excited to be able to meet in person for the chance to have face to face discussion and interaction. Be aware that masks are required for all persons inside OSU buildings, regardless of vaccination status. Due to social distancing guidelines on campus, the number of attendees will be limited, and for afternoon workshop sessions, the reduced room capacity will determine numbers, so please be understanding (and have a back-up workshop chosen in case the room fills up).

Parking on campus:

Your OSU campus parking fee will be covered by the conference. Attached is a map for parking and finding your way to Pomerene Hall. Please refer to the map to find the visitor parking garage. Bring your parking stub with you, and you’ll receive a validation sticker when you register.

Conference location:

The conference will be held at Pomerene Hall (1760 Neil Ave.), right next to Mirror Lake and The Oval. Some afternoon workshops will be held across the street in Jennings Hall, and we’ll have signage and volunteers to direct you.

Lunch will be provided, with the dietary considerations you provided when you registered. Lunch is from Freedom Catering, a locally-women owned business that supports workforce training for survivors of sex trafficking.

Certificates to earn CEUs:

You will have the option to receive an attendance certificate to use the hours from the conference to earn CEUs. Certificates will be sent out via email about 2 weeks after the conference.

Program and materials:

The conference program summary is included here. As you can see, we have an exciting schedule of panels, workshops, and the plenary lecture to engage us, as well as opportunities for networking with dual language colleagues. When you arrive, you’ll receive a conference bag with the full program, and a free copy of the book by the keynote speaker: Foundations in Bilingual Education and Bilingualism.
