Tax Characteristics of Business Entities Available to Ohio Farmers

Ohio farmers have a number of options when determining how to structure their farm businesses. The most common business entities are sole proprietorships, C-Corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, and Limited Liability Companies (LLCs). One of the primary factors to consider when determining which business structure to use is tax structure. The purpose of this publication is to provide a brief overview of the tax characteristics of the aforementioned business entities.
