Final Project & Reflection

Analyzing Food Insecurity Across Four Continents

Final Presentation

Final Project Overview

For my final project I decided to research food insecurity in the four countries I have traveled too. I decided to discuss the factors of population size, gross domestic product, and government type. By looking at these factors I was able to determine why food insecurity varies across the countries of Nicaragua, Australia, Brazil and the United Kingdom. I also looked at food insecurity on a global scale and the programs available for countries to combat hunger. It was interesting to look at these specific countries as they vary in size, location and development levels. I used data collected from the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations and the World Bank to compare each country.

Global Option Final Reflection/Accomplishments

Global Option has allowed me to reflect on my international experiences and expand my global perspective. I have been able to synthesize all of the information I have learned while abroad and in the classroom into a way I can effectively communicate my experiences in personal and professional settings. I I am grateful for these experiences and the skills I have gained throughout. I have enjoyed learning more about food insecurity on a global scale and thinking about hunger impacts a variety of countries. I am excited to continue to learn and travel abroad even after I graduate. I am confident I have become better equipped to be a global leader in agriculture.
