G.O.A.L.S.

  • Global Awareness: As an international studies major, much of my academic journey will focus on increasing my own global awareness. More specifically, I want learn more about the culture, history, and politics of world areas like Eastern Europe, Eurasia, and the Middle East. I hope to study abroad in Russia at some point at Ohio State.
  • Original Inquiry: Research is a huge interest of mine, and I hope to be involved in research as soon as possible. I greatly enjoy research and writing and understand that the research experiences at Ohio State will greatly prepare me for the rest of my career.
  • Academic Enrichment: As an Honors student, I set high standards for myself in everything I do, especially in academics. I chose my major to prepare me for a career in international affairs, for example in a government organization or think tank. Achieving academic excellence in conjunction with the Honors program will ready me for that goal.
  • Leadership Development: I have always considered myself a leader and hope to continue that throughout college and the rest of my life. Practicing leadership in my college community will prepare for being a leader in my career and post-college life.
  • Service Engagement: I have received much from my community and desire to give back to it in some way. I hope to get more involved with my service opportunities at my church and bring some small change to the Columbus area.
