Unusual Sequence

Here is a rather unusual sequence: 125, 59, 42, 34, 14, 4, ____. Can you finish the sequence?

Show/Hide Solution

This question is not really fair unless you have spent considerable time in New York City. The terms of the sequence are the numbers of the streets at which the A and C subway trains stop going south through Manhattan. The terms that follow for the C train are: Spring, Canal, Chambers, and Fulton. The terms that follow for the A train are the same except the A train does not stop at Spring Street.
