The Office of Ombuds Services

On Feb. 1, Dr. Rebeka Campos-Astorkiza began the newly created role of graduate and professional student (GPS) ombudsperson. This is an independent, confidential*, neutral, and informal resource for all graduate and professional students at Ohio State to support them in addressing issues and challenges they encounter within programs or the university at large.

Ohio State’s GPS ombudsperson:

  • offers a safe and confidential place to speak and be heard by a neutral listener,
  • helps students explore options, but allows them to decide the path they choose,
  • assists students in navigating their way through university systems,
  • helps seek resolution, facilitating communication between individuals or groups.

It is the goal of the GPS ombudsperson to support a positive learning and work environment and ensure fairness and equity for graduate and professional students. Dr. Campos Astorkiza is committed to finding positive ways to bring about structural changes that will improve the experience of graduate and professional students at Ohio State.

Visit the ombudsperson website to learn more about how the GPS supports the Ohio State community.

*While the GPS ombudsperson provides confidential support resources for a wide variety of issues, the ombudsperson has reporting obligations related to sexual misconduct complaints. For confidential resources for concern in these areas, please contact a confidential counselor.
