Spinal Orthoses

Function:

Orthoses are designed to limit some or all movements of the spine

  • Flexion
  • Extension
  • Lateral bending
  • Rotation

Orthoses are designed to create intra-abdominal pressure

With bracing it is important to remember that you need to brace at least 2 levels above the injury and what motion needs to be limited by using the brace

Remember a brace is not ordered for comfort
