A picture of my family at my daughter’s wedding at the end of September. The wedding was a fantastic day of celebrating God, love, family and the uniting of two families.
I am from Xenia, Ohio. Married to my high school sweetheart. My inner family circle of blessing includes: three children, one son-in-law, one pending son-in-law, one long hair dachshund puppy and two sets of parents.
Currently, after a 22 year career as a nursing leader in a variety of roles in the areas of oncology, palliative care, and nursing education at Miami Valley Hospital and 3 years as a nurse leader at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I spend half of my week as an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Cedarville University and the other half of the week at Dayton Physicians Network as a Nurse Practitioner. At Dayton Physicians Network, a large outpatient community oncology practice, I have cared for patients in the areas of palliative care, medical oncology, and survivorship.
It was as a professional nurse that I discovered my love for teaching. Teaching patients, their significant others, medical and nursing students, community groups, and interdisciplinary team members is where the majority of my health care teaching experience began and grew.
Attached you will find my resume and CV.
