Dear readers,
Another couple months down, one more to go! The school year has almost come to an end, for better or for worse. Either way, it’s crazy to think how far I (and all of us) have come. To start out on the highest of all notes, I”M GETTING VACCINATED TOMORROW!! When I first heard about vaccinations finally being available in the US, it was some of the most exciting news I had heard in awhile, however I did not expect to be receiving said vaccination only a few months later. So with that being said, I’ve never in my whole life been more pumped to be getting a shot! In addition to this fantastic occurrence, Spring is upon us and it is truly doing wonders for my mental health. While I still have days that are not the best, I have definitely noticed an overall upward trend in my wellbeing as it has been getting warmer. I have always loved the outdoors of course – I am an ENR Scholar after all – but I have started to appreciate it even more! I know for a fact it’ll be a good day if I can spend it outside, whether I’m doing schoolwork, listening to music, or hanging with friends. And on days where I wake up and am not feeling the best, if I get outside, by the end of the day I am so revived. In addition to this, I have actually learned that it is so nice to be alone sometimes! I was always the type of person that was surrounded by people 24/7, and while that can also be fun, being alone can be too. It’s honestly so refreshing to just be able to sit with yourself and do something you enjoy (I’ve been writing and drawing a lot lately!). With all of this motivation coming back with the warm weather, I have struggled a bit with overbooking myself. There’s only so much time in a day and I’ve been really trying to make the most of each and every day, however sometimes I am nonstop. Between school, work, exercising, hanging with people, and leaving some alone time for myself, I am constantly bouncing from one activity to another! And while I do like being busy, it is pretty tiring, and sometimes things I should be prioritizing more aren’t receiving the amount of time they should be. However, it’s something I am aware of and trying to adjust to, plus we only have a month left, so I’m confident everything will work out fine! For an interesting thing I’ve learned this semester, a really cool guest speaker came to our class and talked about sustainable fashion. It was a super fascinating presentation and it really opened my eyes to fashion as an art, and how it can be done sustainably.
And with that, it’s a wrap! I can’t wait for April! It’s going to be a good last month for sure:)
Sincerely,
Me
