  1. In regards to the Academic Enrichment and Service Engagement portion to the Honors & Scholars GOALS statement, I feel that my experience as a first year was priceless and transforming. Coming into college, I was expecting the academic coursework to be exponentially more rigorous than anything that I experienced in high school; however, I probably made myself more anxious than need be. I learned that time management is key to academic success and I can always try my best in whatever I do. My service engagement as a first year was truly priceless and helped me to further realize my passion for serving others. I participated in programs like HAY where I worked with underprivileged children; I also participated in volunteering at Heinzerling Center where I and a few other peers went and interacted with the disabled residents there. Both the academic stretches and service opportunities that I got to participate in this year were truly integral in my growth as a student and overall person.
