G.O.A.L.S.

There are many things that I hope to accomplish during my time at OSU that aligns with G.O.A.L.S. . Many of my classes have already exposed me to global awareness. One major source of this has been my introduction to engineering where many scenarios are based off of humanitarian relief. I hope that my classes continue to provide this type of outlook. I have also been exposed to Original Inquiry. One major project I have done in relation to this is a project for engineering. The project was based around coding and we had to create our own game. This allowed me to explore types of coding that we had not gone over in class and developed my skills as a programmer. I am Currently holding down a strong GPA and hope that I can continue to maintain a competitive GPA throughout my college career. I have been exposed to team work in many of my courses. This has allowed me to develop team skills and has provided me to take the lead many times to develop my leadership abilities. At this point I have unfortunately not gotten many opportunities for community service however I plan to do community service when it is more available.

Acceptance to The Ohio State University

This letter was part of my acceptance to The Ohio State University. It was important to me because I had always wanted to go to Ohio State and many people in my family went to Ohio State. IN addition to this, Ohio State has an excellent engineering program that I know will give me the tools and education I need to have a long and successful career.

Highschool Graduation

This is a picture of me with my high school diploma just after graduation. This moment meant a great deal to me as it was a reward for years of hard work in high school and showed that I was ready for college. This was the first big step for me towards becoming an engineer and helping to make the world a better place.

About Me

Hello, my name is Connor Nielsen. I am currently enrolled in The Ohio State University College of Engineering and I am  freshman. I graduated from Spencerville high school in 2020. While in high school I was a hard worker and managed to hold a close to perfect GPA. I will continue to be a diligent worker in college. While in high school I had many interests outside of academics. I was in the Jazz, Marching , Pep, and symphonic bands(I play trumpet). I played varsity soccer. I participated in choir and in school musicals. While in high school I was also very interested in STEM and participated on a robotics team. I hope to continue many of these hobbies into college. One day I hope to make the world a better place through engineering.
