Subject: Lab 9: TRR Performance Test 2
Date: March 29, 2016
Purpose
For the Performance Test 2, the second design was tested just as the first was in the previous week. Following the test, the arduino data was analyzed and a graph of the data was made to be able to have a visual representation of the data. Now since there are two graphs, the graphs can be compared to see similarities and differences in the data.
Tasks
The primary tasks to be completed during the week are fine tuning the stopping positions defined by the code, as well as completing the attachment of connecting hook. Along with this, the design of an aerodynamic body will be completed for printing before later testing regarding its efficiency. Nick Kanel will be primarily responsible for fine tuning the code, while Marcus Pereira will work with the AEV hook assembly, and Matt Musso will complete the design of the aerodynamic body.
Discussion
During this lab time, measurements will be taken for the lengths of track between each stop. Initially, the AEV will travel 145 marks to the station where it will wait for 4 seconds to pick up passengers in the cart. Next it will travel to the first stop that is 152 marks in the opposite direction. It will pause there for 2 seconds. It will then travel to the second stop which is 260 marks in the same direction as the first stop and it will pause for 2 seconds there as well. After this, it will travel up a slope to the final stop before letting the passengers off 227 marks away. After stopping for 4 seconds, the AEV will reverse direction and travel 110 marks before braking and stopping for 2 seconds. Lastly, the AEV will return to the main station to let the passengers off where it will break for 2 seconds before returning to the maintenance station 152 marks away.
