This infographic may not look like much, but it is the culmination of hours of work and many revisions. My last general education course is a geography class which is much different than I believed it would be. It has involved a lot of group work and I have had to learn map making software. It is a really interesting class, and for one of our projects we had to make an infographic as a presentation tool-which no one in my group had done before. I decided I would be the one to make the infographic. The group kept changing what our main topic would be and what sort of graphs would best demonstrate our research. This is the fifth final version of the infographic I made. The project was about the use of Ohio’s energy, what energy bills are composed of, and how Ohio compares to the rest of the country in those respects and it turns out we are very average.

Spanish Digital Project
This digital project for my Spanish Literature course has been one of the most challenging assignments I have done so far in college. Our assignment was to create a youtube-quality video, with us speaking a script previously approved by our professor, and to convey the theme of our work through a background song and the pictures in the video. This was challenging for me for many different reasons. Firstly because I am not the greatest Spanish-speaker even though I am almost done with my minor in it. I am much better at writing in Spanish than speaking it. Secondly it was challenging because my script took me over the allotted time so major adjustments had to be made. Thirdly, because I had never really created a video before, and you can tell by the quality of it, but this video is hours worth of hard work and frustration. I am pleased with the outcome of the video, but overall I am happy by how much this assignment challenged me and pushed me to learn more about myself and learn more about technology.
Global Criminology OpEd
This OpEd is a very powerful piece for me. It depicts the definition and common misunderstanding of the term “child soldiers.” It explains how a child soldier is any boy or girl, who is used by an armed group for any purpose, but it makes one believe that a child soldier is only one thing: a combatant. I very much enjoyed my Global Criminology because it made me realize that small differences in the meanings of words like shown with child soldiers, can not only get confusing to lay people, but it can actually harm people and make it difficult to enforce international law. I find little differences like these very interesting, which is a good thing because in my future career I would love to work with issues such as these to make a real difference.
Final Spanish Composition Project
Spanish Composition-Final Project
This PowerPoint shows an entire semester’s uphill battle. The Spanish language has always been a struggle for me, a challenge, where I have to dedicate twice as much time working on and studying for than I do for other classes. I also had a very difficult professor this semester for my Spanish Composition course, the head of the Spanish Department in fact. The compositions featured in this work are a progression of my writing, and are the final drafts of all my works. I spent countless hours working on perfecting these compositions and I am extremely proud of them. The only tools we were allowed when writing them were our pencils and Spanish dictionaries. This class was a triumph for me because I did much better than I ever imagined I would, and for that I feel very accomplished.
Homeland Security
Homeland Security was a class in my major that I found to be extremely interesting. For our final project, we had to give a security assessment of the William G. Lowrie Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I enjoyed this process because it gave me hands-on experience in assessing a critical target.
In this project, I was responsible for assessing what the building was in proximity to. It is close to many high-level targets and is easily accessible. Often times, chemicals are left in the hallways and labs are left unlocked, which are just two examples of how the building is not secure.
Role of Analysis in Pre-World War I Great Britain
THE ROLE OF ANALYSIS IN GREAT BRITAIN PRE
With a major in Security and Intelligence at Ohio State, you have many class options to choose from. Because of these options, you are able to take courses focused on topics you are extremely interested in. History has always intrigued me, so when I found out that I could take “History of Modern Intelligence,” I was ecstatic. I jumped at the opportunity and it has been one of the most interesting classes I’ve taken so far.
In this paper, I discuss the role of analysis (as an element of intelligence) in the position of Great Britain in pre-World War I. This is a very interesting topic because a lot of analysis that was done, was disregarded by policy makers and military commanders alike. Intelligence itself did not obtain the respect it now has, until after the first World War, when all of the world powers realized how vital intelligence is.
New Intelligence Community
This was the final paper for my first major class. It holds special significance to me because I spent many, many hours writing this, going through all of my ideas, and going to office hours to make sure I was headed in the right direction. Also, the turning in of this paper signified the end to my first completed course for my major, it was a happy moment for me.
In this paper, I delve into my ideal intelligence community for the United States. We were instructed to completely scrap the current structure and make our own intelligence community from scratch. I learned that I am very good at organizing and assigning tasks from this assignment. It takes a lot to be as effective as possible, while cutting out redundancy and unnecessary entities.
Toronto
This artifact is a personal experience where I grew as a person. International Affairs Scholars took a trip to Toronto, Canada and it was an amazing experience. The first night there, my friends and I were lost in the city of Toronto for two solid hours, we walked six miles of circles and getting turned around, but we had fun being lost. Before it became dark, we had figured out how to get back to the hotel, and stopped for dinner (we were so exhausted).
During this trip, we visited the Royal Ontario Museum, and the Aga Kahn Museum (which were both breathtaking). We listened to a speaker talking about immigration in Canada and how the Syrian Refugee Crisis effected Canada’s usual immigrant intake. We explored Casa Loma (pictured) and it was spectacular. I have an amazing group of friends and we grew a lot closer over our trip abroad.
