It is almost the end of my second year at The Ohio State University. I am no longer studying Swahili, but I still have the same major and minors. I am working two jobs, one at the OSU Call Center and the other is an internship at a law firm. I am excited for the opportunities the internship will open up for me when applying to law schools. I have also started the process of applying to the CIA and other government agencies in the hope to get my foot in the door of the Intelligence Community. I have really had to make this year count because I am graduating early. Involvement and resume-building have been two of my biggest priorities of the year and I’m hoping my hard work will eventually pay off. I am also done with Scholars and am very grateful for all of the connections I have made in the program.
About Me
Year 2
Being from a small town, its always intriguing to see what new things city life has to offer. At a university like Ohio State, it is easy to spend your whole college career and not even see the rest of Columbus or to even see what all campus has to offer. Being an International Affairs Scholar, I am required to attend events on and off campus to broaden my horizons and to ensure that I become a more global citizen. I enjoy exploring German Village during finals or any time studying so that I can get away from all of the people studying in the congested libraries and find a new little coffee shop to do my work in. I’ve also enjoyed IA Scholars because in my first year, I made a core group of friends, and those friends like to explore the city of Columbus with me. I am still studying Security and Intelligence and receiving minors in Spanish and History. In the semester of Spring 2017 I am picking up Swahili to open up even more doors for my future job prospects.
About Me
Hi, I’m Regina! I’m from the village of Beverly, OH, close to Marietta, OH. I was a competitive dancer for sixteen years and was a dance teacher for students anywhere from 2-13 years old. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, traveling, and exploring new places. For the entirety of my junior and senior years of high school, I was a full-time post-secondary student. I accumulated 61 college credit hours and am technically a junior according to Ohio State’s credit system. I graduated high school with honors and an Associates of General Science. My major is Security and Intelligence with a minor in Business. I am currently in the International Affairs Scholars program and am ecstatic to meet people with my same interests. My long-term goal is to work for the FBI or CIA.
