Internship

Are you interested in applying for a professional writing minor but not sure what the internship means for you?

Confidence

After completing an internship through the professional writing minor, you can head into the working world knowing you have the skills to communicate as a professional.

In class, you’ll practice everything from emails to grant proposals to website development in a low-key, safe environment. Click here for more information on coursework.

During your internship, you’ll be able to use what you learned in the classroom in a working environment. When it is over, you will know that you have the skills to succeed.

Respect

Completing an internship means that you have the expertise to be taken seriously in the working world. You have the opportunity to seek advice from professionals.

Completing an internship also proves that you can be trusted to work in a professional environment, on your own and with others. Curious to see what past interns have been trusted to work on? Click here.

Experience

And what about the actual experience gained? That’s up to you!

Your internship will be tailored to you, based on your academic interests and what you show an aptitude for during the coursework for the minor. Being in the working world as an intern will also let you make contacts and prepare for a future in your field.
