Carles Puyol has announced he will leave Barcelona at the end of the current season, but may still continue his career at another club.
For 16 seasons, Puyol played a total of 593 games with the team, and won 21 trophies. Puyol was important for Barca not only because his personal skills, but also because the spirit his brought to the whole team. As the captain of Barca, Puyol showed other players his serious attitude towards every single game. What’s more, Puyol started his soccer training in Barca’s famed La Masia and stayed with the club ever since. His loyalty was a precious treasure for today’s soccer world, when players were treated with much higher transfer fees and salaries.
