Interested in backyard or urban poultry ownership and production? Mark your calendar to attend the 2014 Poultry Ownership Workshop on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. The workshop is a collaboration between Western Reserve Farm Cooperative and Country Store, Purina Animal Nutrition, OSU Extension, and Portage County Farm Bureau. The workshop will be held at the Portage County Family and Community Services Meeting Room #101 (705 Oakwood Street, Ravenna, OH 44266). Registration will begin at 6:30PM, and the program will begin at 7:00PM. Purina Animal Nutrition Representative, Christa Scarbrough and OSU Extension Agriculture and Natural Resource Educator, Heather Neikirk will be the featured presenters. If you hold a Private Pesticide Applicator License in Stark County and your license expires this year, please don’t forget to register for the February 18th recertification session to be held at the R.G. Drage Career and Technical Center. All Stark County applicators received a mailing in early January with registration information. Cost is $35 if registered by February 11 and $50 after February 11 or at the door. Make checks payable to Ohio State University Extension.
