Neglected Tropical Diseases

Neglected tropical diseases are a group of diseases, identified by the World Health Organization, that are commonly overlooked compared to HIV, tuberculosis and malaria.  However, they still account for considerable morbidity and mortality in developing countries and rural areas.  Often treatable, these diseases are often encountered by traveling medical residents and students on global health rotations.
