Your environment can impact your well-being. One research study found 71% of people had a reduction in depression when walking outdoors compared to 45% walking inside.  Spending time outdoors can have positive effects on your well-being.

You too can contribute to making our environment healthier. Try some of the following strategies:

  • Use reusable water bottles
  • Use green cleaning products and natural remedies to eliminate pollution
  • Recycle
  • Use reusable shopping bags
  • Travel environmentally friendly when you can. Try walking, biking or carpooling
  • Pick up trash while walking outside

Did you know the benefits of nature aren’t just found in the woods? Getting fresh air, even if it is just stepping out your door for 5-10 minutes has positive health benefits!  Below are events, activities or services that you can take outside; in your yard, on the Oval, in a garden or any green space across all of Ohio State’s campuses or outside wherever you are.
