All change and no change

As we have moved into the new year and look forward to the end of winter already – everyone has been struggling with cabin fever already I presume – the fact that there has been almost no winter has not passed us without thought. Looking at the GDD tracker site today it seems as if we are in mid-march http://www.gddtracker.net/ – that would be a little disconcerting! To that end we suggest common sense prevails and a little more downtime away from the application trigger may be a better option. Of more concern is that we have not had a traditional winter freeze ‘yet’ – we are already halfway through January and Cleveland forecast doesn’t look like cooling down in any substantial form for the next 10days (2012 is on my mind!). This will require a little more frequent attention to the weather forecast however as it does seem ther eis potential for an early start to the season.

On a more positive (I think?) note – OSU ATI will be attending the Golf Industry Show in Orlando in February and for the first time there will be an OSU/ATI booth on site where alumni can call in. We want to see you – changes are afoot and we are looking for thought and ideas – expect us to be situated beside the booth belonging to the four year turfgrass program. Call in – tell stories and reconnect!

Finally it is speaking season and road travels will take Dr. Raudenbush and Nangle as far west as Idaho and as close to home as Cleveland – we do enjoy the opportunity to speak and look forward to seeing alumni as we are on the road. Enjoy the rest of winter and hope to see people down at GIS.

Look for our new banner at GIS in Orlando!
