About

Kelly CaslterDeveloped by Kelly Casler in partial fulfillment for the degree of Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Kansas School of Nursing. The idea for this project was sparked by the fact that she was seeing an increasing amount of patients in clinical practice with NAFLD, but had limited knowledge on how to manage the chronic disease. Consults with primary care colleagues and an early review of the literature made her realize she wasn’t alone and there was a significant knowledge gap regarding NAFLD. To solve the problem, an advanced clinical residency in both an obesity clinic and hepatology service was combined with a literature review to develop content for this toolkit. Multiple experts reviewed the toolkit for accuracy and five primary care clinical faculty provided pilot review. This project could not have become a reality without the help from the below individuals. For comments on this toolkit email Kelly at nurseKEL879@gmail.com
