Our rationale for choosing this condition was related to the majority of our group members being on staff at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. As oncology nurses, we have a deep interest in the pathophysiology of the differing forms of cancer and often find ourselves caring for patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. By completing this project on prostate cancer, we will have a greater understanding of the pathophysiology of prostate cancer and be able to incorporate this knowledge into our practices as advanced practice nurses.
