Social and Economic Impact

To start-up their company, team 1 has identified all the revenue buckets that would be involved.
The first thing the team needs to invest in is purchasing and raising a dragon and paying their rider.
Another aspect they must pay for is registering their dragon and paying for all the insurance needed for
their company. They also need to obtain all the equipment needed to fly a dragon, like a harness,
saddle, reins, and halter. Then they need to pay for the actual training for the dragon and its rider so
that there is not a loose dragon flying around the country. The rider needs to be able to control the
dragon and adapt to any situation that arises, like storms. The final start-up cost needed to operate their
dragon delivery service, they need to invest in a navigational system and a Microchip for the dragon. The
system would be for the rider to interpret and use to help guide the dragon. The Microchip would be for
tracking and locating the dragon to determine where the delivery is.

The team will also have on-going costs that they must be able to pay for. These costs include
feeding the dragon, storing and sheltering the dragon, equipment maintenance, Waste disposal,
insurance, paying the employees, and maintaining the dragon’s healthcare. These are important to keep
paying because if the dragon is not feed, sheltered, nurtured, and healthy, it will end up dying. This
would be a huge economic setback because the team would have to endure the entire process of raising
and training another dragon. Keeping the equipment in good condition would protect the safety of both
the dragon and the rider. If anything were to break during flight, the rider’s risk of falling would greatly
increase. Then not only would the rider die, the team would have to train another rider and locate their
and capture their dragon.

The team believes their dragon system would be self-sustaining. They intend to get most of their
revenue from tips and receiving payment for their deliveries. They intend to be greatly tipped do to their
knowledge on human behavior. For example, when an individual sees a street performer that is doing
amazing tricks a person is very likely to drop some money into their hat or bucket. The team’s design is
so unique and well liked by other teams and users that they believe that their craft can fall under these
conditions. If they cannot exceed expenses, it would be close to evening them out.

Team 1’s also provides a few benefits for society. Their craft will help to reduce traffic on road’s
allowing citizens to get around easier. Their hope is that other companies follow suit with air travel and
begin to get their giant trucks off roadways too. The team will also provide a faster delivery time of their
goods. This is because they will be able to fly in a relatively straight path to their destination instead of
taking all kinds of twists and turns on roads. They also will not have to deal with the traffic on the road
like the other companies. The team will also not contribute to the amount of air pollution in the world.
Since they are flying a dragon around, their craft will not be emitting exhaust and other harmful fumes
into the atmosphere. The final benefit the company will be able to give to the world is the presence of
professional dragons, riders, and trainers for each. This will help other companies to adjust to the
changing means of transportation. They will not have to train their own trainers, but they will be able to
hire the team’s professions to help out the other companies.
